Little Ones kicks have become a lot stronger this week, when I'm not expecting one it really makes me jump and takes me by surprise but I'm sure I will get back used to it soon enough. When he's being really active I can watch him wriggle and kick under my skin!
I must of been waddling/panting a lot at work too as various people have asked me when my "leave starts". I honestly have no idea but I'm aiming towards some time in may as my new holidays will be available then so I'll be able to put that in front and have a bit of extra time off.
Had a few days where my bump has been really un comfy on/near my right rib, a lot earlier than with Rio but as I'm a shorty that's to be expected.
Last night the dreaded calf cramps I had with Rio made an appearance. I spent half the night propped up with pillows daring not to move, and when I did it came back with a vengeance..leaving me very sore and tired today. Banana before bed it is!

Pregnancy + app! My New obsession!
Thursday, 13 March 2014
Although this baby will be my second, I still find myself obsessively scouring websites for week by week updates of what the Little One is up to in my tummy. Although I have opted out of the emails this time I do still like to know what he looks like, and how big he is. When I saw on twitter there was an app to do this and more I jumped at the chance to try it out!
With the Health and Parenting Pregnancy + app, not only can you see what the baby looks like you can also..count kicks! A god send in later pregnancy if your ever worried about reduced movement.
I love how its tailored to you and very personal. It knows your name, tracks your weight, your health, tells you what to eat etc..heck it even has a list of names to help decide if your struggling. Talk about everything in one place!
The app can be downloaded and used for free up to 14 weeks (which I think is amazing as I know from personal experience this 'danger zone' can be utterly nerve wracking and when you do most of your 'research').. after that you can opt to purchase the version to continue to unlock all the features.
I was sent a code to try the full product for free but as id recently switched contracts to a blackberry, not an iPhone I opted to buy this through the windows store instead and now have this on my laptop. I was very kindly offered a refund but protested as this product really is worth every penny and more..the contraction feature alone cost me more last time!
Pregnant ladies, this one is for you!!
Is it strange that I also got slightly giddy when I saw there was a baby app for the first year coming soon too?? Eeek!

22 week pregnancy update
Thursday, 6 March 2014
Usually when I'm busy around the house or at work I don't feel Little One move all that much but this week that has changed and I now feel his movements even when I'm rushing around..he moves a lot!
Rio has now felt kicks, both to his hands and his head haha, and doesn't seem to mind/be bothered all that much. Although the head kicks were responded to every time with a kiss, which melted my heart and made me tear up!
I've started to get a little out of breath and times too which seems absurd at this point. I have to tidy a room at a time at home and by the end of my shift at work I'm waddling around practically panting..attractive!
The acid has returned!! And with it has come leg cramps and dead legs.
Oooh don't i make pregnancy sound glamorous!!

Little One: 20/21 weeks pregnancy progress!
Saturday, 1 March 2014
I thought id just combine these posts as the weeks kind of blurred into one (with me finding out the sex at 21 weeks exactly). If you saw my gender reveal post, you will know that we are expecting a little boy!!
I think my bump growth has slowed down now and it will just gradually change as the weeks go on. No new stretchmark's yet, even though I keep forgetting to oil up as much as I should and my tummy is getting a little dry. Movement wise I find that Little One kicks inwards and my cervix etc more than outwards but this varies from day to day.
I did make a trip to the doctors last week just to be on the safe side after I had a full 24 hours of cramping, to the point where it was waking me from sleep. The water infection results came back clear so i've just got to keep an eye out that it doesn't reoccur and go near my appendix as this has been a little irrated a few times over the past year or so. The doctor did the 'look who's talking' tap thing on my stomach too..i didn't think people actually did this in real life but the doctor seemed to find it amusing anyhow.
Lots of TMI things that I blogged about last time are starting to make an appearance too. Blind shaving already? God help me ladies!

Little one: 18 weeks.. pregnancy progress!
Friday, 7 February 2014
This week I stepped out of my comfort zone and attempted to vlog my 18 week update instead of blogging it. Rio skipped his nap and was in a cheeky mood so it basically ended up being a video of bloopers. I like to call it..The one where Rio calls mummy 'dog breath'.
This week Little One is around 12cm long and raises its chest up and down to mimic breathing!

Sickness:
This week has been great sickness wise, up until someone decided to be sick up the entire route of the school run. That day everything set me off! And I found my self gipping away at the weirdest of things.
Movement:
Movement is the biggest difference again this week. After my OH felt the baby move things seem to go awfully quiet in there. For around three days I wasn't sure I even felt anything. I put on a brave face but eventually expressed my concern to my OH who told me to ring the midwife. Just as I was getting her number up the baby rolled over so fast it made me feel funny, and the kicking started again. I'm guessing my bump growth gave it enough room to hide away kicking things I couldn't feel for a while :)
Bump:
A little more growth this week bump wise. Ive purchased some over the bump jeans, which I never though I would do, and their sooo comfy. I braved the scales too and ive gained 7lbs at 18+6 which is pretty good and normal for around half way through..i think.
Other:
After a few days of itching, my belly button has decided to pop out...yes already!
Little one: 17 weeks.. pregnancy progress!
Friday, 31 January 2014
I had my 16 week appointment this week and got to hear little ones heartbeat. Sadly my OH can't make my midwife appointments but it was still pretty special with Rio there, listening hard and shouting "baby!". I had a trace of protein in my wee but ive had abit of kidney pain this week so I think that is the last of a water infection hanging on. & judging by my pregnancy with Rio this will be the norm, only once did I not have a trace of something in my wee with him..infact I can remember shouting " yess! I did it" at the very revelation.
I was then informed my next appointment will be the 10th of April, Rio's second birthday, when I am 28 weeks. As it is currently only January this took me aback a little. But apparently when your low risk with your second this is how it is. But because im hoping for a home birth this has made me abit dubious as I was hoping to get to know my team a little more but hey ho. I guess when the time comes it wont matter who's here aslong as they help me meet little one safely.
Sickness:
This week I had to phone in sick for work for the first time on Wednesday. I woke up with a migraine that got worse and everything was making me feel sick. By the time id got ready for work and got Rio ready I was just exhausted and gave in.
Movement:
Oh my god, I never thought at 17 weeks I would be writing this but the kicks have suddenly got a lot higher up and stronger and last night my OH actually felt a sequence of kicks! It's one of those moments that make me grin like a Cheshire cat and squeal a little inside every time I think of it.
Bump:
I haven't felt any bigger this week but my uterus has definitely moved up, and with it the baby..but as you can see from the comparison photo my bump has come out abit more. As im only petite the baby cannot go up, it has to go out..go figure!
Please excuse the picture quality this week and the mess. Rio was having a nap so I used the opportunity to write this post and then realised id need to do a bump shot and my camera is upstairs waiting to be charged. Grainy rainy day webcam shot or nothing im afraid.
Little one: 16 weeks..pregnancy process!
Saturday, 25 January 2014
I think this is the first week that has gone slow in my pregnancy so far. I don't know if its my impatience for the 20 (or in my case 21) week scan..or the fact that my next midwife appointment isn't until the day before I turn 18 weeks! Everything just seems to of slowed down now people know and July seems ages away. People keep asking me if we know the sex every time they see me and i'm finding it hard not to scream to be quite honest. If it wasn't for Rio's bump kisses, little movements and my OH drawing love hearts on my bump in Bio oil I think I would of quite happily stayed in bed this week.
Apparently little one should be measuring around 10cm now and over the next three weeks will double in weight whilst adding cms in length.
But enough of the doom and gloom and onto the exciting stuff!!
Sickness:
No actual sick, just a few days when ive suddenly felt really terrible and at times dizzy.
Sleep:
I'm still going to the toilet a lot in the night, and im finding it harder to get comfy. I don't think this is pregnancy/bump related, just a phase im going through maybe? I'm managing to sleep until 8:30 when Rio wakes up though, so that is a bonus! I may purchase a nursing/pregnancy pillow though.
Movement:
Little ones movement still varies, the little kicks are getting more frequent at night which is very nice! I quite like the sensation of them rolling over under my skin though, as I did with Rio. Sometimes I just get little bubble pops.. hardly even noticeable at all if it wasn't for me laid there, filled up on cold juice, hand on my tummy, concentrating with all my might!
Other:
Naughtily bought a new moses basket this week, but we are keeping the rocking stand from our old one. On the hunt for maternity clothes that make a petite lady like me feel good about my bump not frumpy and a good maternity bra! Still considering home birth.
To try or not to try?
Tuesday, 23 July 2013
Theres no denying that finding out I was pregnant with Rio was a suprise, a nice suprise, but a suprise all the least. I was on the pill and were it not for a sickness bug a baby wouldnt of come into the equation for a long while. Sometimes you dont know what you want until you've already got it. It was always clear for both of us, as soon as we decided there'd be another, that we wanted a little age gap. For a while we back and forthed about when, id be ready, then Craig would and so on and so forth. Times flown. Suddenly the ideal gap we both wanted is upon us and for the first time, we're both ready.
But this time round its different. What if i dont get caught on straight away like last time. Could i handle the repeated heartache of sitting in excitement and anticipation only to get a negative result? I know whats to come with things like labour. Last time was pretty much a walk in the park as far as labour is concerned. I've created such a high expectation for myself, if i did it once without pain relief i should be able to do it again. Only its not like that is it? Every labour is different. You do what you have to do to have your little one in your arms.
I've already had a three/four month gap from birth control so far, not for this reason but now there really is nothing stopping us.
To try or not to try?
Friday, 15 March 2013
A year ago today i was full term with Rio, talking about how painting your toe nails whilst being pregnant is a chore, and telling you to not even get me started about blind shaving!! Haha. I recommended that cervix lighting should be renamed 'lightning' because thats certainly what it felt like. And i looked like this. (this was actually took two weeks before but oh well)
Little did i know that i could let alone would grow alot bigger than this!
Looking back on it now makes me miss my bump. Miss my little baba kicking, wriggling and hiccuping inside me. But makes me happy that i started blogging. It makes me look at my 11 month old terror napping on the sofa with his daddy and think.. "god where has the time gone?".
If i could give an expectant/new mother any advice at all, it would be to take far too many pictures, especially of those first moments, because looking back..it is nowhere near enough!

Breathing becomes easier, walking becomes harder?

Yeah i suppose it does, unless your a shortarse like me. Even though he has clearly dropped down a fair bit hes still really onto my ribs at times, and the amount of acid i get is ridiculous. Ive said it before and i will say it again, refreshers fizzy sweets are a life saver. Im popping these bad boys like their going out of fashion at the minute, even through the night!
I havent done a whats happening this week post for a few weeks, i didnt even know id missed one.. so i'll just ramble about whatevers happening with me. And post one of those picture madgigys.
Apparently my iron has come up abit, its nine now? So if i take my new tablets by the time i give birth it should be fairly okay and over a ten. Which is good. My sisters was low still and she kept fainting afterwards from the loss of blood. Leaving me doing the first feed etc with the baby.. woo scary times!
Got an 'after birth' class tonight. Ive known places do birthing classes but this ones a bit of a mystery to me. Do we talk about feeding and stuff?? Im sure Craig will find that more insightful because at the minute he hasnt really had any hands on nappy changing experience etc before.
No leaky breasts yet, im kind of happy about that, and hopefully i dont jynx myself there.. would be rather embarassing to be out and about. As would my waters going on the bus or in the middle of the supermarket or something hehe.
Obsessions atm? Dandelion and burdock!!

Bump progress so far
Wednesday, 21 March 2012
I know it seems hard to believe, but you really don't notice your belly growing all that much. It becomes the 'norm', and unless im doing something active for a while i don't really notice it.. even now, nearing the end.
Here is my bump progress, some may be in the wrong order (the first one on the bottom row is meant to go next to last) because i didnt use my geniousness and name them 'week 30' etc. *facepalm*oh well. The first one is the day i found out, the second is 14 weeks and so on.

Bump Bump Bumpity Bump
Sunday, 19 February 2012
Why didnt i take regular bump pictures? I guess its because i didnt really feel like i was getting any bigger.. yeah, now after a long day i feel the strain of the bump...but generally, i just feel normal.
This is my 32 week bump
I always think the front shots look strange, like ive got a football in there not a baby. *hehe*
And from the other side.
Ive got to the stage where clothing is limited. Im very petite so i find it really hard to find things to fit, even in maternity ranges. Ive gone out and bought a few pairs of leggings to tie me over and some long tops but im getting pretty fed up of wearing the same things. Ive always loved my clothes so wearing the same stuff over and over again makes me feel abit drab. Oh well.. he's so worth it :) For him to grow i have to is how i see it. Primark has been my life saver tbh..clothes you can afford to just give to charity once your done with them.. want a confession?? ive taken to wearing bright pink lipstick to glam myself up abit.. oh my!! *blush*
