Happy birthday Craigy

Sunday, 25 November 2012

In the morning its Craigs 22nd birthday. I can guarentee when he was young, or even 2 years back, he didnt think that at 22 he would be a daddy. But he is, a wonderful one!! So i thought id dedicate a post to him, from me & master Rio :)

He's my rock. He does everything for Rio & for me for that matter. And im eternally greatful to him for giving me Rio and..well, just sticking by me..because lets face it, in todays day and age alot of lads dont! And if they do they do it half heartidy. And as my dad would say, anyone daft enough to stick by me anyway is..well, daft!

Craig is like me, made for parenthood i think. He was worrid at first and wasnt sure about nappy changes etc. But the second he was born  he took to it like a duck out of water, he was a natural.

Watching him next to my hospital bed feeding Rio for the first time, the look in his eyes....even now i get tears in my eyes and butterflies in my belly thinking about it, it was perfect!! And the nappy change worry? Pshhh straight out the window..i think i was ready for him to go back to work after his two week paternity just so i got a go. He was meant to go back to his mums then too, but here he is 7/8 months later.

Even as i type he's shouting "mummy watch this, watch this".. such a proud daddy.

Him: "Are you blogging about me feeding him his first choccy buttons?" ..Me: "do you want me too?". Him: "yeah"

Okay so right now Rio is chomping away on white buttons, and Craig finds it adorable the way he smacks his lips and opens his mouth for more. He does look pretty cute. Babbling away for more buttons.

"Can i give him a bath while you finish your blog?" ...sure Craigy you do that! :)

Appreciate this post. I'm currently typing keggy one handed, as being the clutz that i am, i've broke the bone off the side off my knuckle and awaiting to see if i need an op. The silly thing is i did it getting up to Rio,which i must of done a gazillion times in the past seven months. His sickyness (im pretending thats a word just go with me) in the last post turned into a two/three day bug so upon hearing him cough in his sleep i immediately thought, shit grab him he's frogging up, and collided sleepily (at the speed of ussain bolt, yes i've once again turned into ussain when he's sicking ;) )  with his cot. Craig thought me shouting "ive broke my finger, ive broke my finger" was hilarious until i noticed my knuckle had disappeared. Who can blame him, i must of told him ive broke my fingers/toes a hundred times before now.

I soldiered on though and went xmas shopping in Leeds after. I must admit though in Harvey Nichols and Victoria Quarters i did feel rather underdressed. We took previously well behaved Annalise with us and by-heck was she a terror!!

I saw the cola advert!! & the iceland adverts must of hypnotised me as i went in for a £1 pudding and came out with £70 worth of food. Rio sat in the normal trolley seat instead of a baby seat :) adorable!!

No cheese please!

Rio's sicky, pretty sure cheesey food doesnt agree with him. The smell of sick is vile, but cheesey sick? wowzers!! Inbetween he's still his cheeky little self though, so i cant complain.

We've gave in and got him a baby walker. Originally the health visitor did convince us to not get one as they can cause children to use the wrong muscles and end up having to have insoles etc later in life. But Rio is at that stage where he cant quite crawl, but wants to be up and about. So like a naughty parent i gave in and he absolutly loves it!! Jessie (our dog) doesnt though, Rio is obsessed with her so he follows her about like a little lost sheep. The way i see it is aslong as you dont just dump them in there and use it in moderation its fine.

By doing this he has also learnt to clap. When he learnt to move it forward we clapped and said "clever boy" so now when we say clever boy he claps hiself. Its pretty adorable.

Weight wise, he's 16lb13oz and 70cm. 7months old & still in 3-6 month clothes..infact alot of them are still to big.

The coca-cola advert was on last night, i didnt watch it.. im going to try put it off abit longer as im not quite feeling the christmas spirit yet. Bah humbug. I did go christmas shopping to meadowhall the other day though but theres nothing jolly about christmas shopping with a pram! Hectic!
^^ "I'ma get you" ... "Noo, come back Jess Jess"
