Nursery nightmare

I think we all imagine this lovely pretty nursery when we are getting it all ready for the arrival of baby..but in all honesty (unless your supermum) once they start growing up its just a constant battle..one that your not goin to win!

If your like me you cant resist more baby clothes, especially if there a bargain or free from family members, so the washing machine is always whirring away and the drawers are bulging. I spend hours folding and arranging Rio's clothes into size order only for my otherhalf to come and pull out a sleepsuit from the middle of the pile and create an avolanche. A cute clothing avolanche but still....chaos.

I spend ages sorting his toys in order of use in the toybox, for Rio to create a new game where he empties the lot.

And the bookshelf just piled up instead of put away nicely? thats my fault, im a sucker for a bedtime story ;)

Oooh so thats why theres a teething rail on his cot

 

 

 As you can see we've lowered his cotbed down as far as it goes now because he think he's an escape artist and goes ka-plunk on the floor. This is Rio pretending that he's a good boy still and sleeps through the night in his own room...not in mummy and daddys bed!

 

He's started grinding his teeth, i dont know how he does it (ive tried lol) but argh it goes through me! Its one of those noises, like when someones chomming their food, where you get the heeby jeebys and think "stop".

He can sit up from crawling now too which means he's so independant. He doesnt need mummy to sit him back up to play better when he's reached his toys. I just need to feed him and change his bum and he's happy..oooh and catch him when he slips standing up with the sofa etc. And if i play silly games like hide and seek and crawl races to toys then thats a bonus. I love being able to be a big kid with him, i wish he was old enough to play outside in the snow. We did consider buying a sledge to pull him about on. Mega cute!

3/52 ..lifey update

 

Ive found another tooth about to make an appearance this morning. I think because he got two at once, then none for 4 months, he's doing some catching up.

He loves hide and seek now, i hide behind one of the sofa's and he crawls and peers about giggling trying to find me.

What else??

My sister has just moved house and since the move Annalise has started talking to a 'little girl'. We don't know whether shes developed an imaginary friend,(she's at that age) or if this is a case of children being more receptive to other things. When she says things like "mummy take a photo of us", then frowns at the image and says "i cant see her", it does make you question. It started when she said a little girl was sat on her bike in the kitchen. I know alot of people really dont believe in it. Each to their own and all that. But ive had experiences that do make me sway to there really being something else...oooooh deep! Has your child had an imaginary friend??

More teeth for Rio

Rio's 3rd bottom tooth seems to be taking ages to break through the skin, poor mite! Its like a little white hill at the moment so we have been watching that one like a hawk, only to not realise the top one had cut through out of nowhere! Its not really bothering him, he's a litle bit clingy but apart from that you wouldnt know any different. Whatta trooper.

He's started putting my phone to his ear, little copy cat, and i swear he said "hiya,hello" this morning. He says grandad clear as a bell now too when he wants my dad..cute!!

It snowed yesterday and i venured out in it to go to my mums house. Wow, pushing a pushchair in fresh snow is hard work! So today we're cosied up in the house in jumpers just being lazy..apart from the washing, in the life of a mummy that never stops does it?

We're all sat having a lazy day and Rio does this :) he's mastering it now..and even letting go at times.

Im giving out medals

Yep..im giving out medals to all you mummies that can feed your baby and not get food anywhere. My dad can..oooh he sits there and perfectly disposits the food into Rios mouth leaving him all clean and pretty. Me? Pshh i just pile it in,and wipe off the excess with the spoon..sometimes he'll even clamp his lips and turn his cheek to me so i get it on there too!! Its worse when you having nothing in the house thats 'baby edible' and have to use one of those jars..bright orange food making your baby look like a simpson when you wipe it off!

Happy new year!

 I welcomed the new year fast asleep, yes life is that rock and roll in this household. Well until the fireworks woke me up that is. Craig kissed me awake earlier in the night and said "happy new year", i replied "is it 12o'clock?" ..and he said "nooo, its 11.15"... Men!!! They do like to confuse the hell out of you.

Rio is progressing more everyday. It scares the hell out of me that he will probs be a ten month walker. He doesnt look big enough. He's only 17lb9 at nearly 9 months. I mean imagine 73cm of cuteness toddling around!!

I'm trying to learn how to use my camera.. apperature, shutter speed etc? psshhh i put it on continuous and Rio does all the work.

I've just realised that my last post was my 100th. Normally i wouldnt have enough inspiration to keep a blog, diary, whatever you want to call thisss. But here i am, 100 posts later!! Im hoping to fill it with more antic, more memories, more pictures, and generally become a bigger part of the mummy blogger community. But we'll see, im more than happy for it to be my own personal little keepsake if not :)
