Ooooh they like to scare you!

Rio likes scaring me to death!! He must have learnt to stand up with things over night because this morning there was a huge thud, he'd climbed out his cot!! My heart was in my chest, never felt so bad in my life!! He's absolutly fine, just a little graze on his shoulder because the cot bars slowed his fall as he held on.  It was the kind of moment you see happening in slow motion but you dont quite get there in time.

Like my mum says, might be first time of him doing something to hurt hiself when your not looking but it wont be the last.  You really do need eyes in the back of your head. God knows how im gunna put him to bed tonight. He might have to sleep with me & Craig til he's 3 or something now hahaa!

How can a baby grow up so much overnight?? One day he woke up and could sit. Then he woke up and could crawl. Now he's woke up and can stand up with the cot bars, sofa and walker. Please slow down little Rio, your only 8 months old!!

Rio's first christmas

Christmas day was lovely. Craig got me a lovely pricey bridge camera to take constant pictures of Rio with, i've been hinting we need one for so long that when we was in jessops on the 23rd getting screen protecters he announced to the man "and we'd like a camera too"..i was a little shocked. I cant complain a year ago he got me a fujifilm camera, its a great camera but..well who doesnt want to try get all fancy. So now im all the gear no idea. Haha. That was on top of the other things he'd already bought. I got spoilt. But not as much as Rio...oooh no santa had well and truley treated him. Our living room is now a playden and his nursery is a pigsty containing all the other toys and the boxes incase something breaks really quick. Im not even exaggerating..its chaos, and not organised chaos.

Boxing day and beyond is another story that im not going to blog about. Sometimes life doesnt go to plan, no matter how much you want it to. But we'll get there. If Rio has taught me anything, its to fight for the things you love.                                                                

My baba's photogenic

Rio's a terror. He's getting pretty good as scooting around, so good that when you go into the kitchen to pop the kettle on you come back to a card covered floor..those cards 'were' attached to the door! Cheeky child.

It was mad friday yesterday, the world didnt end btw ;) the only thing 'mad' about my friday was the christmas asda shop. Yep food shopping and indian takeaway is as mad as it gets in this house.

Normal Fiance's buy you flowers. I've been asking Craig for ages to get me some, hey if you dont ask you dont get. What did he turn up with the other night? A poinsettia, a bloody christmas plant! Oh well its the thought that counts eh, ungrateful biatch!

It was text santa last night on tele, i got a text santa hat whilst in asda, i tried making Rio pose with it for a photo but he wasnt having none of it. Never the less he says 'text santa' everybody ;)

the update i predicted a few posts ago. Little Rio has done some over night learning again, last time it was sitting up and this time its crawling. Well one legged snipper crawling but still..super proud mummy right now :) He now has an obsession with crawling upto the bathroom bin and pulling it over though..hmm! Craigs been trying to learn him to stand with the sofa because when you grab his hands he stands hiself up. He does okay for an 8 month old, when he's not bouncing that it! I swear this child isnt going to walk he's going to bounce around everywhere like tigger!

Rio's made me a calendar

I've started taking Rio to 'playgroup', yes he's a little young for most of the activities but nowerdays alot of parents take their babies along to 0-3 groups etc, so i thought id join in. I was quite shy most of my life when it came to meeting new people and making new friends up until i started working in retail, and even having Rio..but being a mum is a talking point! I dont want Rio to be like that, being social is great. So off i went expecting him to only be able to sit there playing with toys but nope!

He had a go at feeling different textures and especially loved the tray of cornflakes and rice crispies (when he wasnt trying to eat them) so im going to go out and buy the cheaper version for him to play with. It encourages him to pick up things with his finger and thumb too. I spotted the older kids playing in glitter paint and making calendars, and the lady in charge of that area spotted me being nosey haha, and asked if id like Rio to make one. He loved his hand painted and sqwelched it about. The aim was to get his first hand print but he wasnt having none of that, ooh no it was far more fun making a mess :) Proud mummy moment. Rio's first picture, aged 8 month.

The week so far..

I know its only thursday and it isnt too long since i last blogged and in all fairness not alot has happend but Rio is playing away happily in the 'im happy without you moddycoddling me mummy mood'..so i thought id use the occasion to sit with a cuppa and blog. I'm not feeling 100% , theres a million and one bugs going around at the moment so im probs getting one of them. Well im hoping so anyway as ive just attempted to cook eggs that go out of date today to use them up. Shitty chef. Roll on half five when my Craigy gets home. 

...Haha, i think because Rio cant see me behind my laptop screen he thinks i cant see him. "Oi mr, get off the shiny baubles!"

He's getting more cuddly and loving lately. He gives me sloppy "kiss kiss", and big cuddles. I knew when he was in my stomach he was going to have stong legs and by eck has he!! Craig has to be careful when changing his nappy else he gets a nice swift kick to the goolies. Mildly entertaining on my part but anywaysss ;)

Speaking of Craig, he went out for a lads night in newcastle for his birthday and Ricky Hatton happend to be there too. Am i spelling happend wrong? the more i look at it the worse it seems. Oooh thankyou mr google i am!! its happened..still looks wrong to me. When he told me and showed me the pictures i think he expected me to be abit more enthusiasic but in all honesty i was just like "thats nice babe" hahaha im such a bitch. If it was the other way round i would of expected jaw drop response. How easily are people amused by so call 'celebs'. Speaking of celebs, the amount of people that hear Rio's name and go "ohh your partner must be a man u fan", yes he is, but no actually i chose his name so im pretty sure that Mr Ferdinand didnt influence it at all!

8 month update

Just got back from our first family photoshoot, so thought id sit down and blog a while so theres not a huge gap, and well...before i forget whats been going on!

Rio was good as gold by the way.. not as smiley as usual so im guessing we may have the majority of the shots him just sitting pleasantly but ohh well, could of been worse. No doubt i will include a few on here when im done. Brighten the boringness up.

He's took a liking to rolling over in the night and sleeping either on his side or his tummy, which at first scared the hell out of me and i was back to checking he was still breathing constantly like i did when he was a newborn.

He says ta, when you say it when passing him something..infact sometimes i put off even saying it because he whispers "ta,ta,ta,ta,ta" over and over..cute, but after a while you go okay Rio, your welcome shhh ;) ... He's also started doing this very cheeky smile where he closes his eyes! Oooh boy its going to be so hard not to laugh when you tell this one off when he's older thats for sure. Little cheekster & the male version of Annalise.  He's trying so hard to crawl now too, i think this time next month i may be posting a update :) maybe i should ask santa for some eyes? you know, for the back of my head ;)

& in a morning i chase Rio's head with the spoon when he turns away, so what does he do? spit it back at me! Seriously mummy, ive had enough

My hand still hurts so bad when i knock it, something isnt right but on the plus side....i have my engagement ring back on :)
