What they wore on Wednesday: Rainy day

Wednesday, 27 August 2014

I hate rainy days but make the most of them by staying in and dressing cosy. I try and do the same for the boys too so that they are comfortable while we enjoy some indoor activities or chill time.

Rio wears
Jumper: Next
Pants: Primark
Niall wears
Outfit: Tesco
See here
What you cant see is that today Rio has underpants on for the first time, which is a huge achievement all in itself even without the going to the toilet bit. He's showing every sign of being ready apart from the actually wanting to sit on the toilet part..but he saw me take the last pull up out of the packet and thought they had all gone so asked for a red Fireman Sam pant on instead.

I love how chunky Niall is getting. His little chubby tummy and leg rolls make me all gooey inside. Rio is a true boy and doesn't keep still so they are the complete opposite size wise and I have to giggle at some of the pictures of them together. Rio never really grew into other sizes yet I think Niall is going to grow straight out of them!

Jacket - Primark £7
Trainers - Clinks £33
Jeans - H&M  £7.99+
Top - Next, price unknown as it is a handme down, im guessing about £6

We ventured to meadhowhall at the weekend to try and find Rio his first pair of shoes. Obviously not his first pair..i havent let him go bare foot for 11 months dont worry ;) But his first of the hard sole walking variety. We tried a few pairs in Zara but nothing seemed to fit right so we headed to Clinks for a measuring. The lady there was fantastic. She was so patient when he "forgot how to walk" with them being heavy. And 20 minutes later we walked out with Rio's first pair of...Nike trainers!! *Rolls eyes*. Like father like son. The actual choice range wasnt that nice, infact we had a choice of Nike or Nike in the end because of his size. However the lack of choice for early walkers is definatly made up for in the service. (Although she didnt offer to take his picture with his first pair like i was seeing all around me..so i did that one myself).

I'm in love with the little jacket from Primark. They've really been really impressing me lately and this is so on trend and perfect to take the breeze off in summer. The jeans are soft so they dont restrict any movement & the tops just a little bit of fun to make him look like a mini golfer for Grandad :)

Please let me know if you have posts like this, or have spotted any great bits for your little boy, i find it so hard to shop for Rio so i'm always on the lookout :)

Im aware these arent my usual type of post but im just trying something new inbetween his update posts.

What he wears #1 - first big boy coat!

Saturday, 23 March 2013

Its no secret that im abit of a shopaholic when it comes to kids clothes. It doesnt even stop at Rio, my neice and nephews are often recieving clothes as gifts. I'm sure they'd much rather me take round treats but oh well ;) you get what your given! Haha. So behold..my first what he wears post.

The online pictures for this coat do it no justice at all. If i was buying online would i have honestly bought this coat? probably not. But as im a big believer in trying things on, i grabbed sleepy-saurus out of his pushchair instore and gave it a try..im so glad that i did! Its perfect!

His baby blue and grey coats still make him look all young and baby like so this is officially his first 'big boy coat'. The colour & quality are lovely, and its nice and snug. Trust me, i stuck my arm in there and tried it! I like plaid shirts but if you dont the check lining is a great way for your little man to stay on trend. It's priced at £24-26 so its middle range for how long they stay in them..but if like me if you live in the uk that just means that your getting more than your moneys worth. I mean come on England snow in march? This time last year i was walking around clumberpark enjoying the sunshine trying to bring on labour!

If any of you have suggestions for his first pair of 'big boy shoes' now that he's walking please let me know, we're on the look out!! Is clarks the best option? HELP!

Off to bed, sleepyhead!

Friday, 1 March 2013

As a mummy to a boy, i have major girl clothing envy when out shopping. I like 70% of girl clothes and yet find it so hard to really fall in love with something for Rio, apart from PJ's. Boys really have the advantage on cool PJ's.

I'm a sucker for anything 'cute dinosaur'. We often refer to Rio as Rio-saurus or saurus so my insides squeel when i see things like this! He even says rawr sometimes now..that reminds me of a tweet i recently saw. "Anyone who thinks rawr mean i love you in dinosaur obviously hasnt watched jurrasic park..it means im going to eat you". But just for today, i'll pretend it means i love you ;)  Next sleepsuits & vests wash so well.. which is great for me seems as though Rio seems to stay in one size for so long. He's 11 months in 9 days and these are 6-9, with some growing room! This pack is £15-£16 in store. And can be found here http://www.next.co.uk/x51892s2#133147x51 The middle ones my favourite!

Primark have some Mr Mischief ones that are a gorgeous shade of blue for £6.

And these yojojo ones were amazing from Asda before the mess ;) promise.

My baba's photogenic

Saturday, 22 December 2012

Rio's a terror. He's getting pretty good as scooting around, so good that when you go into the kitchen to pop the kettle on you come back to a card covered floor..those cards 'were' attached to the door! Cheeky child.

It was mad friday yesterday, the world didnt end btw ;) the only thing 'mad' about my friday was the christmas asda shop. Yep food shopping and indian takeaway is as mad as it gets in this house.

Normal Fiance's buy you flowers. I've been asking Craig for ages to get me some, hey if you dont ask you dont get. What did he turn up with the other night? A poinsettia, a bloody christmas plant! Oh well its the thought that counts eh, ungrateful biatch!

It was text santa last night on tele, i got a text santa hat whilst in asda, i tried making Rio pose with it for a photo but he wasnt having none of it. Never the less he says 'text santa' everybody ;)

Ooooh i knew i was forgetting something, only joking and last but no means least!! A collage of some of our family photoshoot photos :)
