Sundays child..

Sunday, 28 July 2013

Today we had our first bbq of the year, and in true English fashion..it rained!

rio,garden,flowers

I did however manage to take some pictures before the heavens opened and the thunder started. Craig's peering over my shoulder asking "did you not photograph the barbeque and food?", why would I want to waste camera battery on that when this little beauties running round? Men ;)

Today was the first day of my week off. Yes i work sundays, it sucks, but not as much as you'd think.

Superman saturday

Saturday, 27 July 2013

superman, next

Every year one of our parks holds a summer fair. Along with the raffles & rides my neice was also dancing so we all walked down for the day and despite the weather forecast for an afternoon rain, the sun stayed out for us all to enjoy!

This was her first performance and although she lost concentration at times, she was adorable to watch! Its always a rare and great opportunity for my parents to have all four grandchildren together so we attempted a picture. Rio was not impressed to be kept away from playing football longer than 0.5 seconds..i however think its a quirky cute photo!

Rio finally got to wear the superman top mentioned here

Rio by name, Rio by nature?

Monday, 22 July 2013

If you've ever popped by my blog before you will know that little Rio is ball obsessed. Its what made him take his first steps, say his first words, and what 70% of his day consists of. Therefore you will have noticed we never pass up the opportunity to take a ball out with us for the day & to make the most of the nice weather before the much needed rain and thunderstorms, we packed it under the pushchair and headed for the park.

The picture above is what we were greeted with. Everytime i tried to slide it out of his hands he woke up, grabbed it tighter to his chest and nodded back off again in contented sleep. Me & Craig took this as an opportunity to chat and relax on a bench infront of the pond watching the little ducklings..before it was time to jump in the car and go do the dreaded Asda shop that is!!

Im linking up with PODcast's whats the story?:

Free fun in the sun: at the park

Thursday, 18 July 2013

Im a big believer in the best days out /activities are the free/cheap ones. So instead of splashing the cash this summer, why not splash in the sea or the pool in the garden instead? Whether its a trip to the local beach or park, your sure to have fun creating and capturing memories!!

Clumber park, and yet another picture of Rio playing football.

Wednesday, 3 July 2013

Seems as though me and Craig have the same week off together we're trying to make the most of it and have as many family days out as the weather allows. Clumber park is an old favourite of ours, and little Rio likes anything that has enough grass to kick a ball about so we're all happy chappys really.

..we'd be even happier chappies if we'd booked that last minute holiday like we'd planned but oh well, least the current bun is making an appearance. Hey maybe it will stay out long enough to take Rio on the beach for the first time at the weekend? Bucket and spade at the ready courtesy of nanna the easter bunny.

What a terror!!  In sports direct the other day they had balls right near the ceiling and it took him 0.2 seconds to locate them. He has some kind of sixth sense for balls/balloons. It took me about ten minutes of handing him rugby balls, basketballs etc before he got mad and pointed to the ceiling and growled "FOOTBALL", that i realised. Silly useless mummy!! ;)

Peak district with a pushchair day #2

Tuesday, 4 June 2013

We'd originally planned to have a little shop around the village. But of course all the shops are closed, its bank holiday monday you idiots! The sun was still out so i twisted Craigs arm to make the most of it at Chatsworth hall and gardens..the history tourist in me couldnt resist..like ive said before..old before my time. The house was stunning and the garden more so.

Id bought a tripod before we went away for this very purpose..family photos in stunning locations. Rio of course was tired out from all the football, and napped the next two hours.

Family photos from the trip? Nil

Day out at the park

Monday, 22 April 2013

Rio has now mastered walking/running on grass so it seemed like the perfect time to take him for a kick about at the park.

I love these little family days, i work saturdays now so a full day all together is rare and we like to make the most of it ..sometimes i wish Craig took these kind of photos of me with Rio too though ;)

A year ago today: Craig went back to work after his two week paternity!

Rio's gunna win the match ;)

But i couldnt resist this post.. it just tickled me hehe.
