Fun in the sun and my big pregnant tum!

Tuesday, 20 May 2014

Its been a long time since I've sat down and blogged. Time is passing by so fast and before I know it another week has gone and i'm another week closer to being a mum of two. So, what with the rare lovely weather, I've just been spending as much quality time with Rio as I can. Blogging has taken a backseat but it hasn't been forgotten. It's still something I love but as I've always blogged to create a keepsake I personally don't mind the slip in posts/views etc. This is my life, this is real. I'm not going to just sit down and type something just so I have. And as much as I would love to update more/upload more photos.. its pretty time consuming and at the moment I'm heavily pregnant and my eyes are firmly trained on making sure Rio doesn't try unzipping the safety net of his new love. His trampoline. Parents..if you haven't already invested in one of these I suggest you do so now. BEST BUY EVER!

Here is a little snippet of our life lately..fun in the sun, and my big pregnant tum!

I spent the day reading on a blanket under a tree..occasionally peeping up at these two playing football/biking around. Pregnant life doesn't get much better than that!

Pregnancy at the moment mainly consists of acid, electric shocks in my cervix when I walk and achy hips at night. With every movement he seems to poke out of my skin, which is beginning to get extremely painful..im actually looking forward to the growth spurt I had at the end with Rio because at the moment he has no room at all and my stomach is so tight. Hello new stretch marks!!

And in true boy fashion, it was all finished off by helping Daddy wash the car!

Turning two!

Saturday, 12 April 2014

On Thursday Rio turned two. We spent the morning visiting both sets of Grandparents and then headed out for the day to Brodsworth hall. Rio has always been grown up and forward for his age but I feel like over the last few days he's changed even more, he really has been a pleasure to watch.

The weather held out and was glorious on Friday too, so we took advantage of Craigs times off and ventured to Clumber Park for a picnic and kick about!

We pondered over the idea of a party for a while, but Rio really is the outdoorsy exploring type so it seemed silly to not have a day that would really make him happy. I think the parties will start once he's in school and he can really remember them.

He was pretty spoilt in the present department but its all things that he will get good use out of and love! He also got his first scooter, which he loves scooting about on. And as he'd actually asked for a fish..he got one of them from my dad too! He loves feeding it every morning and watching it swim around.

Whilst at Clumber Park we added a National Trust membership to our collection so hopefully our spring/summer will be full of new family adventures!

Clumber park, and yet another picture of Rio playing football.

Wednesday, 3 July 2013

Seems as though me and Craig have the same week off together we're trying to make the most of it and have as many family days out as the weather allows. Clumber park is an old favourite of ours, and little Rio likes anything that has enough grass to kick a ball about so we're all happy chappys really.

..we'd be even happier chappies if we'd booked that last minute holiday like we'd planned but oh well, least the current bun is making an appearance. Hey maybe it will stay out long enough to take Rio on the beach for the first time at the weekend? Bucket and spade at the ready courtesy of nanna the easter bunny.

What a terror!!  In sports direct the other day they had balls right near the ceiling and it took him 0.2 seconds to locate them. He has some kind of sixth sense for balls/balloons. It took me about ten minutes of handing him rugby balls, basketballs etc before he got mad and pointed to the ceiling and growled "FOOTBALL", that i realised. Silly useless mummy!! ;)

So much to catch up on..

Wednesday, 30 May 2012

Theres so much to catch up on so im going to have to be abit more 'brief' than usual.. i do like to babble on dont i ;)

First we went to York for a day out as an early birthday thing for me on sat. York is lovely. The shambles etc are so oldyworldy.. i always end up being a tourist in my own country when i visit places with lovely scenery and buildings etc.

On sunday we went to clumber park.. the sun was still shining so why not be out there enjoying it.

On monday it was my birthday.. and... Craig asked me to marry him. Rio with a bow would of been enough of a present for me but wow! This just completes our little family.. Roses, one knee, the works. I said yes, haha , in case your wondering.

Rio is now 7weeks old and 10lb2oz. His thrush has gone so with that so has his sickness. Im the one with the sickness now. Ive got a bug, or food poisening. Craig, bless him, had to come home from work.. and not being able to go to close or kiss Rio is pretty much torture. He had his six week check, as did i, and the doctor is very happy with both of us. Just the dreaded first injections next. Dare i make Craig take another day off of work to help with that? hmm we will see how brave im feeling.
