Twycross first birthday celebrations

Despite the weather being a little dull we all had a lovely day out at Twcross :)  I still cant believe a whole year has gone by. I always seem to take far too many pointless pictures of animals (my camera is full of them) so i thought id post a few at random and get some use out of them. I also attempted that cake i was talking about..wait look its a dinosaur..spot a theme here? ;)

So much to catch up on..

Theres so much to catch up on so im going to have to be abit more 'brief' than usual.. i do like to babble on dont i ;)

First we went to York for a day out as an early birthday thing for me on sat. York is lovely. The shambles etc are so oldyworldy.. i always end up being a tourist in my own country when i visit places with lovely scenery and buildings etc.

On sunday we went to clumber park.. the sun was still shining so why not be out there enjoying it.

On monday it was my birthday.. and... Craig asked me to marry him. Rio with a bow would of been enough of a present for me but wow! This just completes our little family.. Roses, one knee, the works. I said yes, haha , in case your wondering.

Rio is now 7weeks old and 10lb2oz. His thrush has gone so with that so has his sickness. Im the one with the sickness now. Ive got a bug, or food poisening. Craig,bless him, had to come home from work.. and not being able to go to close or kiss Rio is pretty much torture. He had his six week check, as did i, and the doctor is very happy with both of us. Just the dreaded first injections next. Dare i make Craig take another day off of work to help with that? hmm we will see how brave im feeling.

Son & Mum snuggles & turning 21

Well.. Craig is at a presentation tonight, so its just me and my other mister. Snuggles on the sofa watching the soaps is the only thing on the agenda..well, other than the general baby duties but that goes without saying doesnt it in the life of a mummy.

I’m 21 this month. Never did i imagine that at 21 i would be a mum to a newborn baby..but i actually love it. Sometimes life doesnt go to plan but you’ve just gotta roll with it. I’m quite a maternal person anyway, babies, nappies and stropping tantrum throwing kids have never phased me. And now that i have Rio it just seems like i was made for it.. Craig too i think, he’s pretty much perfect!

So yeah, im 21 soon.. im still classed as a ‘young mum’ so i get all the judging looks and comments 16 year olds etc get occasionally..and it doesnt help me looking about 12 on a rough day (ooh and im a short a**e, hense the walkingtalkingpollypocket blog name) ..but who has the right to say when the correct age to have kids is? in my opinion if your settled down with someone (ive been with the OH coming up 5 years) then why the hell not!! & even if your not doesnt mean that you cant be just a good of parent. Heck im not one to judge but ive seen some terrors of older parents in my time.
