Before i know it it will be my birthday, and my little family will be heading to the peak district for some quality time together. This time last year i thought that my birthday would be the first time i left rio but when it came down to it, i couldnt. Little did i know that it would be nearly a year later when i actually managed it. To some people that might seem crazy. Ive seen posts of people grateful for a nights peace from their newborn, and thats fine..good on you. But with me it was harder. I got anxious, i knew what each of his cries meant, how to sooth him. What happened if he cried for his mummy and i wasnt there? What if something bad happened to him and i wasnt the there? God forbid.
The more my inlaws asked the more i didnt want to. Everytime they said "we can have him, we dont mind"..or.."why dont u leave him here while you.." i wanted to scream "but i don want too!!".. looking back i can see they just wanted alone time with him but at the time i just thought cant you take no for answer?
What im trying to say is..dont let anyone push you. You know when your ready. If thats weeks in, great. If its years in, thats okay too.

Aw, I was like this too! We had our wedding anniversary just after Leila was born and everyone offered to have her. But she was a) too precious to leave behind and b) so much a part of our married life that we ended up taking her with us for a swanky lunch! At six weeks old haha!
